About Me

I’m Arianne, a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science at York University. I am committed to driving transformative change and building products and services more accessible for everyone through design, programming, and management.

Achievements I'm Proud Of

Currently, I am working at Hydro One as a Business Data Analyst. In the past, I’ve worked at companies like Blackberry, Karla Rewards, and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

In high school, I devoted over 1,000 hours to volunteering and founded Global Spotlight Toronto, which inspires youth to create change.

I excelled in 21 hackathons, securing 9 victories and learning web/mobile development, design, blockchain, and data science.

Recently, I spearheaded a Women in Tech Panel at York University through my leadership of Computing Students' Hub.

When I'm not coding, I enjoy photography, taking walks, and entertaining bystanders at karaoke bars with my off-key singing.

Background

As a first-generation immigrant from the Philippines, I bring a unique perspective to the table. My experiences have shaped me into a resilient and determined individual, constantly striving to learn and grow in this new country. I am proud of my heritage and am excited to share my culture with others, while also embracing the opportunities that come my way. Being an immigrant has taught me to value hard work, adaptability, and the importance of community.

Career Goals

Looking ahead, my career goals are grounded in the belief that technology can be a force for good. I aspire to:

Drive Innovation for Social Impact: Utilize my skills to develop innovative solutions that address societal challenges, making a positive impact on the lives of diverse communities.

Promote Diversity in Tech: Actively contribute to creating a more inclusive tech industry by mentoring and supporting underrepresented groups, fostering a culture of diversity and equity.

Lead Cross-Disciplinary Teams: Develop proficiency in managing projects that require a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and design thinking to deliver holistic and effective solutions.

Continuously Learn and Adapt: Embrace a growth mindset, staying at the forefront of technological advancements, and adapting to new challenges and opportunities in the ever-evolving landscape of tech.

Global Collaboration: Foster international collaborations and partnerships, leveraging diverse perspectives to create solutions that transcend geographical boundaries.

By pursuing these goals, I aim to contribute to a world where technology is not only cutting-edge but also compassionate and inclusive. Join me on this exciting journey as we build a future where technology serves as a force for positive change.
